This workshop explores the application of Yan Shou Gong to meditation and life.
Let by Malcolm Holmes (also known here by his Buddhist name, Upayavira), and Paul Wilson.
They will be exploring the centrality of posture to meditation and it’s connection to engaging creatively with life more broadly. Extremely relevant both on and off the cushion, these practices will be exploring how our internal structures can bring a solidity without muscular strength. They will offer guidance to help release held tension and find a much deeper relaxation whilst still retaining poise. They will be drawing on deep insights from the Shaolin Temple and developed further by martial arts Grandmasters. They will also hint at the martial arts applications of this work, drawn from the internal martial art, Yan Shou Gong.
Suitable for all levels of experience. Please bring vege lunch to share. Suggested donation to be shared between Upayavira and the Centre is £60/ £40. Please donate on the day.
